Grandma's Everything Cookies

Whenever we visit my dad's mom, she always has these cookies.

Grandma's Everything Cookies - Grandma K

1 C butter
1 C oil
1 C white sugar
1 C brown sugar
1 egg
3 3/4 C flour
1 C oats, quick cook
1 C coconut
1 C rice krispies
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter
6 oz chocolate chips

Cream together butter, oil and sugars. Add egg and beat well. Add salt, soda and cream of tartar, mix well. Beat in flour and stir to combine. Add oatmeal and coconut. By hand mix in rice krispies and chocolate chips.

Drop by teaspoonfulls on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Do not overbake.

  1. I just wanted to tell you how very very much we love these cookies! I made them for the first time last year and they have been a favorite since. I usually make the batch and freeze the dough as cookie dough balls and store them in a large ziploc bag in our chest freezer. Then whenever we want just a few cookies, I can pull out the balls and bake. No mess, no fuss and great tasting cookies. Your Grandma must have been a great cook if these cookies are any type of example. Thank you for sharing with us, they have become a family favorite here too!
